Time to be ruthless! added photos

I've been flying off and on for years and this morning flylady sent out an email called breaking the chains (regarding clutter) and she so nailed it! I have been hanging onto so much stuff cause I might need it or I have guilt I spent money on it, I need to let it go! Today, LORD willing, I need to let go. 15 minutes a day I need to be ruthless and get this stuff out of my house (and the guilt along with it). I have pictures I took last week of my "decluttered house" which looks way better thn it did a couple months ago, but when I look at them I still see clutter. As soon as I can get access to my dhs computer I will upload them, maybe you can help me be ruthless? :)

ok heres photos, tell me like it is, I'm a big girl :p I have asked SO many of my friends to help me with this and not a one will do it, please just point out my bad spots, tell me whats junk, etc. I can take it!

Livingroom from a few angles (and yes the slide is an eyesore I know but the children love it and its supposed to go on the deck in the summer)

The Kitchen, the counters are much clearer already, seeing these photos was a big motivator, we are down to the change jar, the kitchen aid, the dish rack and my flyjournal left on the counter.

I need to get better photos of that one, what you dont see is on the right there is a sewing table and bins of fabric and shelves with craft stuff, and on the left there is a computer desk, an overstuffed book rack and a couple more bins of stuff. the photo makes it look much neater than it really is.

ok thats it for now ;) I need to clear out the main areas before I head to bathroom and bedrooms.

Re: Time to be ruthless!

Just thinking out loud here, some things I want to keep for sure:
Toys:
Vintage fisher price ball toy
Little people house, barn and figures
Wooden blocks
Happy apple
Play kitchen and high quality/knit food
Legos

Books:
Only good character building books and schoolbooks

Kitchen stuff:
Just what I need, how many cookie sheets does a family of 7 who entertains frequently need! I have bout 8 I am thinking 3 maybe 4?
2-3 mixing bowls (not a whole cupboard full)

Will return later, children need me.

You can do it! I understand entirely the urge to keep things because you might need them later. But just last week I came to understand that the Lord has provided me with all I need up to this point in my life and I can have faith that he will provide for my future needs. I do not need to hang on to unused items because I *may* need them later, I have the freedom to bless someone else because I have faith in God's provision for me. This has given me so much peace! Best Wishes on your journey to simplify! I can't wait to see pictures and progress!

I read that too and I am right there with you. I just spent 15 minutes purging our bedroom, it always seems to be our "clutter magnet" for whatever reason.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I needed this, I hope I can share this with dh and he will get it too. He has a hard time letting go of stuff thinking we might need it.

I would love to read the flylady email if you are willing to post it. :)

I recently did some work in our kitchen....RE how many cookie sheets....I have a convection oven that has 3 racks, so 3 cookie sheets works for me. If I didn't have a convection oven, I would have 2. One in the oven, one out of the oven. I also have one jelly roll pan and one small pan that we use all the time, so it stays.

I'll comment in the morning, must go to sleep! I may have to do similar, I get so used to all of our clutter that I can't always see it.
