My review of the new Flip daytime inserts/flats *added pics!*

I bought these expecting to use them for part time cloth since I have just been way too overwhelmed by trying to get cloth to work for my ds. He has had some health issues (severe eczema, food allergies, chronic diarrhea) that just made cloth almost impossible without major rashes and stress. I figured I'd just keep 3 daypacks as a backup stash if we were able to use cloth a little and to hold on to if we have another baby someday. Well I ended up LOVING them so much that we haven't used a single disposable since they arrived last week. Now I have a extra pack of disposables that I don't even want to touch! :giggle2:

The new inserts when padfolded are literally as trim as a disposable (not just saying that either!) and he can wear jeans no problem. They stay put WAY better than a regular flat in his Flips and are much easier for me to dunk and swish (no sprayer) because the layers stick together when rinsing them out. I've handwashed a couple just to see how easy it would be and it worked GREAT. We haven't had a single leak even for a nap with only one insert and we've been doubling them up at night with 100% success. I have gone through 2 diaper wash cycles using them (we prepped them 3 times to get started before use) and they get clean SO easy! One cycle with a prewash and extra rinse and in the dryer for 30 min and they are done. They fold up super easy and stay together padfolded really nicely. I was able to fold 2 days worth of these in about 5 minutes, no big deal even for a really busy mama.

Sorry that I don't have any pics to share, hopefully other mamas will help with that part. I'm just so thrilled to have a flat made out of out my favorite material. I was going to buy a few diaper bag AIOs or a dozen bamboo prefolds with some paypal, but realized I really don't need them! Why would I want something that needs more wash/dry attention and is bulkier?! Try them, you will LOVE them! :D

Added photos!
4 Flip inserts padfolded (short way) next to a stack of 4 - size 4 7th generation sposies. The Flips are wider than the disposables, but on the bum under a Flip cover it is not noticeable. They are definitely the same thickness though!

My 18mo wearing one under 18M jeans (really they are small even with a disposable). This is the best I could do to get him to hold still :giggle2:

That's awesome! I want to try these, as well. I have none of the following, but I believe that Best Bottoms and Grovia AI2 would be the same as flip for you.

I specifically like the Flip because it has very gentle leg elastics and these new inserts are *flats* so they are super easy to wash and dry. I'm not so sure either BB or Grovia would be quite so easy care, plus both left terrible red marks on my son's legs after one use when we tried them in the past. The flips don't leave any marks at all.

But that takes the "fluff" away... I have a fluff princess and I'm not rushing to potty train cuz I love her fluff...
