I am not sure what you mean by needle gauge?? Do you mean needle size?

If so, I would say US 5, 16" long and US 7, 16" and 12"( or you can get longer ones for Magic Loop or a set of 2 circular or double pointed needles for the legs.)

A gauge is the number of stitched per inch (spi) that you knit with a given needle size and a given yarn. For example, using worsted yarn and US 7 needles a usual gauge is 4.5 -5 spi.:goodvibes:

Yes size :) I am probably confusing everyone! Heck I was confusing myself reading my pattern! Thanks

go with what your pattern says :) and its called needle gauge, don't worry :)
and the gauge you want will change depending on how loose (or tight in my case, lol) you knit. that's why people swatch- so they can see if they match the pattern with the way they knit and the yarn they chose. (I'm bad, I just wing it)

I personally use the evie pants with a 4.0 mm (us6) and 5.0 mm (us8 :)

have fun!
