Cashew cream- vegetarian meal question

I have been looking to make more vegetarian meals and came across THIS recipe. It talks about cashew cream- yay/nay? I have never had it before and I can easily get unsweetened almond milk but was wondering if it would really alter the taste that much. Worst case is I could make it and then not use it but I guess I am kind of nervous, how silly, lol.

I have never made cashew cream. I love cashews. For this soup I would use it. It would make it more hearty and protein packed. If you make give an update :)

Re: Cashew cream- vegetarian meal question

Use the cashew cream - it takes the place of a dairy cream to make the soup richer which almond milk would not do.

Yes - use cashew cream. It thickens upon heating and the almond milk will not thicken.
