DS just turned 4...for around 8 months to year he has "waking up" to go pee at night but he is 100% out of it. He will walk in closets/ walk in sisters room turn on her light and walk out/ try to pee in shower or stand on stool and try and pee in sink. We will try and snap him out of it...some times he does and other times he won't. He will also pee in his bed once in awhile and he then gets very upset. We will find him half way off his bed asleep...like he tried to get up but fell back asleep.
Normally he will wake up crying/very upset.
Anyone having/ had this issue? What helped?

Thanks

My son does this still and he is 9.

He wanders into closets and tries to pee. We just direct him to the toilet and back to bed. Usually peeing wakes him up after. Its kind of funny but I don want him peeing in my magazine rack so I make sure to guide him in the right direction. :giggle:

Re: DEEP SLEEPER/OUT OF IT!

A friend's son does this and they just point him to the bathroom.

My ds doesn't do this to go to the bathroom, but he has started sleepwalking. He walked into the hall and stood there, turned on the light in his room and went back to bed, played with toys, talked to us. I usually watch him for a couple minutes to see if he's really awake or still asleep. I would gently redirect to the bathroom and make sure he's not getting overtired.
