Burning vein help ideas
I have a lot of veins in my calves and ankles that come to the surface during pregnancy. They do it earlier and bring more friends with them each time. Right now I have several patches that just burn unless I am lying down. (and then my nose gets stuffy and I can't breathe :banghead: )

Wearing compression hose helps a little. Last night I used cold packs to be more comfortable. Walking makes me not notice it, but I end up swelling worse from being upright. Having to sit in the driver's seat and drive is the worst. I do keep my left leg propped up on the dash board. I know how very safe.

Anyone have any other ideas to help with this? I've got at least 11 more weeks to go and I know it only gets worse from here on out.

ETA: My BP was 90something over 64 on Tuesday, so I'm guessing this is part of my problem.

The blood pressure is not the problem. That's a pretty common number in pregnancy. (I was just at the midwife's office today, and mine was about the same.)

Sounds like typical varicose veins, and the best thing to do is wear the compression tights, (put them on before you get out of bed in the morning.) exercise to get the blood moving back up to your heart (muscle contraction in your legs will push the blood back), and elevate your legs when resting. Avoid crossing your legs, and don't sit on your knees on the ground.

I've had bad veins since I was about 14, and I find they hurt the worst when they're newly broken. The old ones still bubble up and look terrible when I'm pregnant, but they don't hurt anymore. Just the new ones hurt.

Another idea as well is to have you DH massage your legs/feet every night. it gets the blood flowing.
