CPSIA Compliance

Maybe this is something that's already been addressed, but I couldn't find a thread about it.

If I only buy products that are CPSIA compliant to put in my diapers, do I need to still get them tested in any way?

And how do I get certificates from fabric vendors and such to prove compliance?

I'm waaaay confused about this...

I don't know if the finished diaper still needs to be tested, but my understanding is that the fabrics are exempt except for PUL and snaps. You can ask the vendor to give you a copy of the cert.

Actually, a lot of fabrics require testing. If it's CPSIA compliant and you are registered as a small batch manufacturer, you don't have to test the actual diaper. PUL, snaps, any materials that have nap (CV, OBF, etc) have to be tested. CV seems to be the hardest one to come by with tests already done, but I know there are some stores working on it.

Thanks, Peanut! That helps a lot! Do you know about labeling requirements as well?
