Does anyone receive reduced lunch price at school?

I'm just curious what info they look at to qualify.

Isn't it just income based?

For us it was income based only.

It is income based and number of people in the family. Call the food and nutrition department and they will give you the answers you need.

As gas as I know, it is just income (includes child support) and family size. We send home the application with every child at the start if the school year. The application asks for SSN, income, WIC or TANIF, and I think that's it :)

Solely income based.

And, even if you don't intend to eat the lunch, please apply anyway. Federal Title I funds are given based on free/reduced lunch numbers, so not applying when you qualify hurts your school. The district I teach in has 80% of the elementary students qualifying, but many of the HS kids didn't bother to fill it out and pay for their lunches using money from part time jobs, which kept the school from qualifying for Title I funds last year.

I know many mamas on here don't have their kiddos eat the lunch, but it really helps the school if you apply anyway.

Good to know! I'm just curious. I will apply for sure. Even reduced will help. We are a family of 5.
