UPDATED Forum Rules!
The Forum Rules Page (3rd link in the navigation bar) has been updated. I urge everyone to read through this. DS has been seeing some ugliness lately that we are determined to put a stop to.
The first half has not changed, the seond half has beginning at Warning System/Banning Policy has changed.

You agree, through your use of this forum, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, adult material, or otherwise in violation of any International or United States Federal law (some leniency allowed such as sexually oriented material posted with tact). You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless you own the copyright or you have written consent from the owner of the copyrighted material. Spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are also forbidden on this forum. Advertisements posted in the approved forum is acceptable.

Warning System/Banning Policy
From this point on, we have a fairly straight forward policy concerning just about anything that may come up on DS. We have a Rules Page and a FAQs section; everyone is encouraged to read this every so often because as problems occur, changes need to be made. Our policy applies to the entire board in general as well as specific areas such as the WAHM forums or hosting Co-ops.
Keep in mind; we have created these rules not to limit our members, but to protect our active members who just want a fun drama free zone to hang out and buy/sell/trade in confidence.
Reminder - This may be a reminder to suggest a member get re-acquainted with the FAQs/Rules, it may be a reminder to simply have a good attitude. For members who have been around and KNOW how things go, you probably won't have the privilege of receiving a reminder
First Warning - The first warning could be specific to the WAHM forums only, or it could be for the board in general (we will state this). This will be given for blatantly ignoring ANY of the DS rules, guidelines, or FAQs. What does it mean? It means if we have to tell you again (which considering we're all adults, we shouldn't have to), we will take action. This brings us to the second warning...
Second Warning - The second warning entitles the lucky recipient to a temporary 6 month ban. The member will be PM'd and emailed. The members account will be set to accept emails (email will still remain private) - this is so anyone who may be in a transaction with the banned member at the time can contact them. PMs will be inaccessible and post count will be reset to zero.
Third Warning - After the 6 months is up, should a member come back, they will still be at Warning 2. Should they violate any of the rules; it will result in a final and permanent ban.
What sort of things will get your a reminder or warning?
Making public comments (direct or indirect about DS or the administration of it) is unacceptable. If you have issues, that’s fine - take it up privately with a member of the Mod Team.
Calling out another member publicly whether for a transaction or for what you feel was rude or inappropriate comments (this can be taken up with a member of the Mod Team if need be). If you don't like what they say, take it up privately with them or simply zip it and move on.
Trolling. What’s a troll? A troll is someone who posts rude, offensive, or inflammatory messages for the sole purpose to antagonize and annoy the existing members or disrupt the flow of discussion. If such a pattern is found in your posts (at the discretion of the Mod Team) you will receive a warning.
Excessive Negative Feedback. If a member gets more than one negative feedback in any noticeable chunk of time, their feedback will be reviewed. This is always done case by case and is up to the discretion of the Mod Team.
Some simple reminders to get everyone started....
When replying to another members thread/post, please think about how you are addressing the original topic or if you are at all. Please consider why the original post was made (asking for support or affinity VS your opinion or thoughts on the matter, etc) - not all posts are open to debate.
When replying to a lively or controversial thread, take a minute to review your message prior to hitting "post"; consider ways it might be misinterpreted or hurt another's feelings. Stand back and try to read it from another person's perspective.
Before posting, always ask yourself if this is something you would say in real life. Message boards are quite different from real life conversations, but the one way they will always be the same - these are the same people you might find at the grocery store, church, work, or where ever you happen to be. There are real people with real feelings behind every username.
Respect the DS Mod Team
Diaper Swappers is a free site owned by MamaJo, and ran by a group of moderators. We, the DS Mod Team, do not get paid to do our job here, and we volunteer what time we have to deal with the day-to-day organization and moderation of DS. To ensure the smooth running of DS, we enforce ALL the rules set forth by the Mod Team to the best of our judgment and interpretation.
Yes, we are humans too, and we do occasionally make mistakes. Positive criticisms in the form of PMs are always welcome, and please do feel free to PM any of the moderators should you have any questions. With that being said, we kindly ask you to respect the Mod Team for the volunteer, unpaid work we perform on DS. We do not ask for anything in return, beside members enjoying themselves here and DS being fun and trouble-free. Should you choose to troll/flame/bash/harass us, call us names, or cuss us out instead of resolving issues civilly and privately, we will not hesitate to ban you without warning. Respect goes both ways, and none will be given to you if you can’t show us any.
