Milk Bank!!!!

Attention Southern California Mamas!

Lorri Walker, RNC, NP, CNM is proud to announce the Grand Opening of Orange County's first Mothers Milk Bank...South Coast Mother's Milk Bank!

Upon realizing the void that needed to be filled in this area, Lorri partnered with Prolacta to create a local place where Moms and their children can give back to the community. Donated Mother's milk will be made available to premature and critically ill newborns whose mothers are unable to make a supply. Breast milk has been proven time and time over to be far more beneficial, particularly in ill infants, than formulated, artificial milk.

In addition, a benefit of becoming a Donor is each Mom will receive a FREE breast pump! Hers to keep, whether she donates one or one hundred ounces! The pump is hospital grade and valued at $390.00!

Please keep posted for an invitation to our Grand Opening that will be held at South Coast Mother's Milk Bank (address below) May 17, 2006, 11am-2pm. We welcome all and look forward to your support. Also, we will have our website completed in the coming weeks and will be sure to inform you all of its address to share with friends and neighbors.

Please support us and our community by spreading the word. We encourage any mother interested to contact us for further details or more information. We are accepting donations immediately. We can only make a difference with your help.

Thank you dearly for all your time and continued support. We are excited to see what the near future brings :)

Re: Milk Bank!!!!

Here's the site for the National Milk Bank that will accept donations nationwide. I so wish I had known about this when DJ was nursing because I had a huge oversupply (I had to pump exclusively in the beginning and then continued to pump while working) so I wound up throwing out TONS of milk that we just couldn't use fast enough. I will definitely be signing up when the new baby gets here!
