What do you use to clean your dipes?
I've heard of SO many different things to wash your dipes in and I'm wondering what all of you ladies use.
I've heard Oxyclean, Seventh Generation Laundry Detergent, Vinegar... I just want to know what will be the least damaging and still get them nice and clean. Thanks! |
Re: What do you use to clean your dipes?
I use sportswash. Its only like $3 at walmart and does a SUPER job imo!
I used to use SUN and that worked well too and was cheap. Quote:

We use Windfresh/Sam's powder brand. It works well for us and is like $10 for a HUGE tub. :goodvibes: This is also a great link: http://www.pinstripesandpolkadots.co...entchoices.htm

I pretreat with Bac-Out. I soak with tea-tree oil & lavender oil. Hot wash w just a TEENY bit of Sport wash (from Wal-Mart). Then, 2 cold rinses. Sometimes, I throw in a little bit of distilled vinegar in the rinse to soften the dipes.

Re: What do you use to clean your dipes?
I vary what I use every several washes. Crazy idea probably, but I got it from a textile chemistry class I took. Something about the fibers getting used to certain chemicals won't come as clean over time......
I use: Allens Naturally 7th Generation All Free and Clear Washing Soda Once a week I use Oxy Clean for my inserts only. So far, no stains or stink issues of any kind. I did have to sun some wipes that I forgot to wash on cold first. They all came out perfect. The key for me is to wash at least every third day. Good luck! |
Re: What do you use to clean your dipes?
cold rinse with baking soda (or Arm&Hammer So Clean)
hot wash with 1tbsp Purex Free cold rinse with vinegar I wash ususally every other day, but sometimes I can do up to three days if I'm busy and can't get to it and I boil my hemp every couple of weeks to get out all of the stinkies works for me! |
Re: What do you use to clean your dipes?
I've heard over time especially with pockets vinegar is not good.
Also the above link is VERY good!!! If you notice the green ones are all---cheapo's!! So it is true that expensive isn't always better! |
