Woo Hoo, I found it!!!

I went to the commissary today...lo and behold, they have Calgon Water Softener!!! Yeah baby! We have the hardest water here in Germany...I mean it's really, really hard. I had them special order a case of Purex Free and Clear, since that was what was recommended by Pinstripes and Polkadots. The only other thing they had was Tide free and Arm n Hammer free, but that site said they weren't as good. Diaper laundry, here I come!!

Hey! Your post caught my eye because I am in Germany too...Mannheim. This probably sounds stupid (I am still fairly new to cding), but I didn't know that the water here was bad for the diapers! How do you use the water softener, do you just add it in the washing machine?

It comes in either powder or liquid and it says to add a capful to your laundry with your detergent. How's the water in your area? Over here, it's so hard that everyone breaks out when they first get here and my kitchen sink is just impossible to get shiny.

I believe ours must be the same way because I have the same problem with my sink. I just didn't associate it with the water for some reason...duh! Also, I've heard other people say that their hair was dry from the water when they first got here too. I checked our commissary and we have the Calgon too, so I picked it up to give it a try. Thanks for the tip!
