What to wash hemp inserts in?

Hi ladies,
I tried searching the boards for this but I'm so new, I'm board challenged. Ok, so my issue, I just received my 18 FB's and I ordered 1/2 with microfiber MOE inserts and the other half with hemp inserts. Now, the instructions say I need to wash some magical oil out of them so they absorb. Ok, so wash three times and dry on hot. Now...WHAT DO I WASH THEM WITH? I did two washes already on a small load (I have nine inserts) in hot with about 2TBLSP of Tide Free, a few shakes of baking soda and about a TBLSP of Oxy clean. I'm probably creating some kind of weird chemical reaction in my washing machine. Need some advice? I know there are a billion ways to wash diapers but I need a launching point.

Thank you thank you thank you in advance....

you don't need to use baking soda or oxy clean...unless they are stinky and have stains that won't sun out. :) I use Allens Naturally as I've heard that Tide Free can cause build-up on pocket dipes. I'm not sure about hemp though. You might be fine, but I hate having different detergents for different things. Just my :2cents:

I just use my regular detergent (huge bucket from costco). I hate adding extra things to the wash. I've never had any build up problems and everything is always nice and clean.

you can use the same detergent you use with your other cds. So Allen's Naturally, or Sun detergent from Walmart, or Sportwash [walmart], or Charlie's Soap, or a mix of Simple Green and Washing soda. I am sure there are others that I am missing... You need something safe for those pockets though, I have heard of people having problems with Tide. I think too it depends on whether you have hard water or not. HTH

Wow, simple green and baking soda? I never heard of that one.
Do you know the amounts?
