Best covers for newborns? Can I wash them with toddlers pocket dipes?

I am planning on using CPF's for our next baby due in September since they worked well with our son when he was an infant. I used Prorap Classics, but was disappointed since I had some leaking problems. Can anyone recommend other covers for newborns/infants? I think Bummis seem to be pretty popular.

Also, can I wash the covers with my toddlers pocket diapers or do I need to keep things separate?

Thanks for your help!

Oh! I need to know this too!!
My baby is also due in September and I'll be diapering a newborn for the first time! My 2 year old just wears diapers at night now and we just started her in cloth in May. So I'm really new at this!

Somebody HELP us! :goodvibes:

We really liked Litewraps in the newborn size. They are roomy and the velcro is really nice non-scratchy stuff.

You can wash them all together. I don't have any personal experiece but I've heard lots of good things about BSWW's.

I used Bummis originals and Bummies SWW with CPFs with my girl for almost 6 months. The originals are day covers only. the BSWWs are pretty good. I never had any leaks from pee only on either of these covers BUT I will say that when DD had some BF poo blowouts, those non-gussetted legs didn't help keep in some of that goo. Some would get on the leg elastics. This happened with blowouts only tho, not just a regular nice old BF curd poo.

the Bummis Polar worked much better at keeping in BF poo. but there'd still be poo on the inside of the cover. I think this is more a function of using prefolds though. No leg elastics = less containment.

Just my :2cents:
