Stressed Out!

This is what has been happening for the past 2 hrs .....

I've tried milicon, gripe water, rocking, slinging, walking, bouncing, swaddling, patting .... any other suggestions?

Hmm... maybe it is my singing.

Re: Stressed Out!

go outside!

That worked for my boys alot of the time.. different air, temperature, scenery, etc. usually it startled them out of whatever fit they had gotten into so they could relax and pass gas, poo, eat etc....

HTH!

Edited to add: If you think that it *might* be gas.. try putting him tummy down across one knee so that his legs are pointing down between your legs, his tummy on your thigh, and your hand holding his forehead.. then gently bounce your legs and pat his back.. this position seems to help pass gas.. and it gives him a dark calming view (inside of your hand)

HUGS to you!!! I know that is sooooo hard not being able to *fix it*...

:hugs: Hugs to you mama, I know that's hard.

Maybe try to colic hold - baby face down over your arm, head by your elbow, your hand holding the crotch area.

Maybe try to take the baby into a dark room and sway slowly back and forth - could be overstimulated.

I'm out of ideas but good luck and as soon as DH gets home, hand off the baby and go take a walk! :hugs:

You can try giving him a warm bath in a dim lit bathroom. That always worked when I was up all night with Hailyn's colic. (Although she would normally begin screaming again once we were out!)

Step outside, go into the bathroom with the exhaust fan---

My daughter would (and sometimes still) screams until we put her down in the crib with a mobile on.

I second the idea of taking him outside. I still have to take my 2 year old out when he's inconsolable and it works like a charm every single time. :goodvibes:

Ok, for my dd I would set her car seat (and hold onto it of course) on the washing machine well it ran....worked wonders for her, for my first ds - it was STATIC on the tv, drove us nuts, but he wouldn't make a sound as long as it was going. And for my second ds it was me holding him and bouncing on an exercise ball til I thought my thighs were gonna fall ooff:giggle:
Good Luck and :hugs: to you.

Oh, I am sorry. The only thing that worked for dd with colic was our vacum cleaner. Who knows, it worked.

If you get really frustrated just put the baby down for a few minutes to collect yourself then go back to him.

Good luck!

Do you have a sling or baby carrier? Sometimes it's a magic thing for them! I second the vaccum cleaner though.
