Folding wrong? Do I need to cut? *pics*

These prefolds are either toddler or premiums. Its the lighter green stitching if that helps. They are the right size for around the waist. The problem is there is excess all over the diaper and I cant get it to fit trim. Its unrolling or doing other funky things. :banghead: Its mostly happening around the legs. I cant imagine how huge they would be with a cover and pants. I like thin and trim. I've always heard prefolds are very trim. Im not seeing it :headscratch: what am I doing wrong?

I think this is called the jelly roll? It looks trimmer in the pictures then in real life. There is so much at the legs its irritating the crud out of me. How can I fix it?

I was a tried and true bikini twist lover but with these it looks horrible. There is no way I could get a cover on him much less pants as well.

Do I need to cut? If so, what and where do I cut?

Re: so I have these prefolds

Those are toddler chinese and they are too big in the rise :) If you get the rise trimmed off a couple inches they will fit MUCH better.

looking at the leg areas in the picture Im thinking i need to cut the sides. How would I do that without really ruining them? Is there a way to do with without them looking home-made?

I hear ya girl. I'm having the same problem with our premium cpfs. DD is WAY too big for her infants and her premiums are WAY too big for her! :banghead:

And your pics look WAY trimmer than what my folds have ended up looking like!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Contour them maybe? SO they are more of an hour glass shape?

Maybe make them into prefitteds?

I'm weird, but I just say invest in a few premium CPFs. www.mommacommune.com/boutique has Thirsties (), a six-pack is $10 and free shipping. So basically, $20 a dozen. Not a bad deal at all.

it sounds funny but really trimming the rise will help the legs. When you can get a good fit prefolds are soooo trim. I couldn't believe how much butt a fitted has (even most of the "trim" ones after using prefolds)
I like prefitteds but you will lose absorbancy, about the same with contouring them. When I am using a too big prefold I do a combination of the bikini twist and an angel fold, tucking more of the front under. While its not as trim its still pretty good and doesn't bulk up around the legs but sometimes its hard to get the twist in the right spot so the rump is flat.
I guess i should get a pic up because its really hard to explain

Wow...That looks trim to me! What is wrong with it? I've never been able to get a really trim fit with a prefold. :headscratch:
