Re: Ideas for DH's Bday
Dinner is NOT my strong suit, but CAKE is...
Ice cream cake rocks my world. Buy: 1 package oreo cookies, 1 jar hot fudge topping 1 tub cool whip 1 box ice cream (box, not a tub, it's easier to cut). Leave out to soften a bit. Crust enough oreos (usually about 1/2-3/4 package) to coat the bottom of the pan (use a food processor...it's WAY easier). Mix with 1/4 c of melted butter (or more if necessary) to make sticky. Press to bottom of pan. Cut ice cream into even slices, lay on top of cookies. Top with fudge topping (which you will generally have to heat a bit to soften) and spread with cool whip. Sprinkle more broken up oreos on top. Freeze to solidify. Serve. It's yummy! |

Re: Ideas for DH's Bday
For dinner you could make Spaghetti Bake:
9x13 glass pan 1 1/2 lbs ground beef 1 green onion bunch garlic to taste 1 package spaghetti noodles 1 big plastic thingy of Prego (or whatever) 3/4 c sour cream 1 c parm cheese Brown the beef w/ the onion, garlic and salt and pepper. Add the entire thing of spag sauce. Boil your noodles until tender and drain. Add sour cream to noodles and mix. Get your glass pan and start layering. 1st sauce 2nd noodles 3rd some parm cheese 4th sauce 5th noodles 6th sauce 7th rest of parm cheese Bake for about 20-30 mins and yum-o. It's my hubby's new fav dinner and it's surprisingly easy and we always have leftovers. I also make garlic/cheese biscuits to go with. I really wish that I didn't let my hubby take all the leftovers for lunch today :giggle2: Have a great time planning his bday! |
Re: Ideas for DH's Bday
My DH his having a b-day this month too...He prefers Cheesecake to regular cake, so I'll be making that.
He also has a fav local BBQ sauce so I'll prob make BBQ bonless ribs in the crockpot w/ baked or mashed potatoes and broccoli But I usually consult him first...it's a family tradition to the the b-day person pick all the food on their day. |
