Cal me insane...

But this morning i bought a featal doppler off of ebay. I am o afraid that i will go to the doc and not hear a heartbeat, since that happened last time, that i want to be able to check on baby everyday....
So i was going to rent one, but that was well over 100 bucks for the cheapest i found, so i searched on ebay...

i got it for 107 dollars after 5 dolars insurance, nd 20.00 shipping. ANd it is one that will show the heartbeat, so i dont have to count...

My hubby is going to FLIP out when i tell him i spent 100 bucks on a doppler. but I can resell it when i am done, and make my money back....

100 bucks for peace mind works for me....:lostit:

I don't think you're crazy at all:)

Feel free to tell your DH that I rented one for $22 a month at 3 months. I'm now 8 months along and I still have it! I thought I'd send it back as soon as I felt regular movement, but obviously I didn't.

Plus, since I rented it I can't even resell it!

I don't think you are insane! I have never had a loss and I rented one with my last 2 pregnancies because they thought I was MC, but I never did. Too bad I wasn't smart enough to think about buying one!!! Thanksfully however my insurance did cover it! :)

How did you get your insurance to cover it? I never thought of that...I wonder if they would since I was high-risk early on with a history of partial molar pregnancy. Hmmm...

Yeah, im so excited to get it. I have an OB appt on wednesday and i get to hear the HB for the first time. I know i wont have the doppler before then since it is coming from Ireland, but at least i will have a way to check after that...

I rented one through my pregnancies with my boys :) And I didn't return it with boy#1 until he was probably 5 months old...it was about $32/mo. Got it again with boy#2, but I returned it about 1/2 way through 2nd tri I think. Just felt comfortable enough I guess, then I regretted it! :)

Not insane, good luck on telling dh :)

Not insane at all! I rented one during my last pregnancy for 8 or 9 weeks. It was $32/month and well worth every penny. If I could have gotten one for $100, I would have. Then I could have resold it afterwards and recoup'ed some of the money I spent.

What a wonderful piece of mind! I borrowed one from a friend until the late 20s (as far as weeks go) and then had a fetoscope I was able to hear it on.
