When does a nursing necklace come in handy?

I have a really colorfully patterned WAHM hooter hider that really entertains DD, she never would let me use a plain ol' blanket but loves the hooter hider. She's getting 2 where she wants to pop off all the time, and it's really starting to get to me, would a nursing necklace help maybe? This only happens when i don't use the cover @ home & stuff. Thanks!

Celia

i have never used either a nursing necklace and with my second i refused to use a blanket. ;) i do think at a certain age they tend to just be interested in the world around them! I have never gotten the "popping off" phenomenon to disappear after this point. ss!

I think nursing necklaces can help the popping off, personally. It all depends on the babe though. It doesnt hurt to give it a try.

A good nursing necklace can usually help in this situation, by focusing the baby on the necklace and away from popping on and off. That's what they are designed for

Good luck, mama :)

I got a beautiful necklace...and I'm glad I like it because DS is only interested in it after he is done and is sitting up in front of me or in a front carrier! He would rather play with his foot, wave his arms around or beat on my chest :giggle: . Oh well, I tried.

Re: When does a nursing necklace come in handy?

I've never used a cover of any sort, and have only recently started using a nursing necklace.

She doesn't pop on & off the boob, but she DOES like to SCRATCH everything right now to see what kinds of noises everything makes (she's 4.5 months). The necklace gives her something to do.

The problem? She gets SO interested in the necklace, she stops eating ENTIRELY so she can try and mouth the beads! LOL

So, a necklace CAN work, provided the baby isn't more interested in chomping on the beads than she is in finishing her meal. LOL
