Any tips on night time weaning??

We are down to just bedtime nursing.. anywhere from 2-4 times total. I just can't not allow him to nurse because he will scream and wake everyone up in the house and dh has to get up 5am for work.. Not only that, we don't do CIO so that's not an option. I really need to move on with getting my thyroid taken care of.. I have to either get it radiated or have surgery to remove it. The drs have been monitoring me since I was 4 mo pg with him and now he's 2 and we need to get something done with my thyroid. I was hoping to be pg by now, but I know that I really should focus on my health first, then ttc later on... I'm thinking maybe by next February my thyroid should be all taken care of if I can get him weaned soon. So, any times? He seems to be quite addicted and looks forward to his nursies.. I feel bad to take that away from him.. but it's time. :(

all i can say is cut back one feeding at a time - 2 - 4 at his age seems like alot. just work on cutting one out or done and then go from there.

i agree that TTC should not be thought of until your thyroid is taken care of - it may cause you to have troubles getting PG!

Gosh he used to feed 10-14 times every 24 hr period so I thought we were doing good! :giggle: He nurses to sleep at about 7:30 or 8pm.. then he usually wakes between 2-4 to nurse (we co-sleep so half the time I'm asleep).. then again about 6ish.. then again about 7:30, then we get up for the day.. Sometimes he sleeps through the 2-4 or 6am times though.
