? about formula measurements

I have a question about measuring formula. We use powdered formula, and do the measurements according to the can (2 oz of water per 1 scoop of powder). We are currently using 6 oz of water (and 3 scoops of powder). When mixed together, the measurement on the bottle says 7 oz of liquid, assuming because of the amount of powder adding to the mass or whatever.
Anyway... when we are trying to figure out how much formula she is getting in a day, should we consider this bottle 7 oz of formula or 6?

I'm going to make a poll, to see what the consensus is, but if you have actual literature to back up what your opinion is, please let me know. I keep forgetting to ask the doctor at our visits (if she would even know)

I always concider it to be 6oz because that is how much water you put in in the first place. Maybe I'm wrong. I always say my dd is drinking 6oz's right now. Actually I never stop to think about it. You brought up a very good point.

I once asked our pedi because it bothered me that I didn't know. He said it's whatever amount you started with as water. So it would be 6 ounces, even though it looks like 7.

Yeah, you go by the water measurement. Someone on another board I used to post at said that they called the formula company once to ask and they were told to go by the water measurement.

the water is what counts measurement-wise.

It's the amount of water that you used.
