Wrap/carrier that's good for BF and in hot weather?

I am terrified of nursing in public! So, I was thinking one of those wraps/carriers that you could nurse in would be nice! We will be moving to VA in a few weeks...so the carrier/wrap has to be good for cool weather!

Do those specifications go with any wrap/carrier that you ladies know of?!?
Thanks!!

How about a ring sling in light airy fabric? It takes some practice to get used to, but I hear it is worth the effort (I'd guess after a week you'd have it down). You can cover up with the tail, but if your baby doesn't like to be covered, you should also just be able to adjust the rails so no one can see.

I just ordered a maya wrap sling on sale for $19 (about $26 w/shipping), haven't tried their slings before, but the adjustable pouch I had was really light breathable fabric. I'll try to remember to post an update when it gets here. This sling has light padding on the shoulder, but none in the rails.

Here's the sale:

You could also get a moby wrap or other stretchy wrap, but that involves more fabric & might feel warmer since you'll be wrapped up too.

A Mei Tais are nice too, I'm not sure they'd be as cool or as easy to discretely nurse, but they are a really good option for you too.

TBW has a fsot section with lots of great deals & also "choosing your baby carrier" forum:

I'll second the mayawrap suggestion. I've nursed my kiddos very successfully in it. Also, it is good in cool or warm weather. We live in NY/MA area but wore it constantly while down in FL at Disney.

I don't have a carrier suggestion, but have your tried the nursing tanks? I didn't care about anyone seeing my boob, but my belly?! HAH! I loved the nursing tanks. Maybe that with a carrier as suggested in PP.

I just received my maya wrap sling & I really like it.

The fabric seems like it will be very nice for any type of weather, breathable, but very supportive. It's a bit tricky to get all that fabric thru the rings & it took me a bit to get it adjusted right, but I think with a little practice it will be a breeze. By the time I was done fiddling with it, I felt like I was already getting the hang of it. The only thing I don't like is that it has steel rings, they clank together a bit when taking it on & off.

Overall it's a great deal, so if you want to try out a rs for a good price & don't want to stalk fsot, it's a good option.

I will second(or third)the nursing tanks. I also don't care who sees my boobs, but I don't want my belly hanging out.

The thing that works best for us is to have Taci(2 months)in an upright hold in the sling and adjust her to nurse in the sling with the tail tucked over her head. I got one on ebay that was gauze and very very comfy
