DD allergic to amox

I found out about a month ago that DD has a severe allergy to amox. I'm pretty sure I have a throat infection and I know that's what they'll want to prescribe. I took it succesfully when she was 1 week old but maybe she wasn't allergic then?? Is it safe for me to take now? If not, what are my other options?

Re: DD allergic to amox

There are a TON of Rx abx that they can give you. An allergy to amox is pretty common, so they have things like Keflex, Sulfa-types... I can't even remember all of them. I MAY be allergic to amox (got a nasty rash on my body after a round for strep 2yrs ago) so they have me something else for my heart murmur during labor with my last baby since my murmurs have gotten worse. Anyway, they gave me 2 different types instead. Good luck!
