How long can nursing strikes last?

Ds is almost 14months and got sick last week. He had a throat infection and abruptly quit nursing. I've been pumping for 7 days and he'll drink it out of a cup, but screams bloody murder when I try to nurse him.

I know for DD, she was only 8 mos old at the time, but it lasted about 4 weeks total, but she still nursed, it was just really hard to get her to stay on long enough for letdown. I think it was probably because of teeth, lasted 2 weeks before the teeth popped and 2 weeks after.
