Ahh what to do???

My 2yr old dd has just learned how to crawl out of her crib. Well, putting her to bed was a fight tonight. She has always just went right to bed, and slept all night. (since she was 8 wks old) I had to return her to bed 3 times before she went to sleep, and now at 2:00 am she just came out again. Uhh, any tricks to remedy this? Or is it just something that will pass? She is going to be a bear tomarrow.

I guess i'll go to bed. Maybe with all lights off if she does get up she'll just go back to bed.

Are you going to move her to a toddler bed or regular bed now? Once they can climb out it's really unsafe to leave them in the crib. That'd be the first thing to do so they don't get injured. Then after that it's just a battle for a week or so until they learn they go to bed in their big girl bed... I transtitioned my 16 month old (now 18 months) to a twin bed and it took only one night of dh having to lay down to put her to bed until she understood that it was bed and she didn't get out. HOpe it works out for ya! GL!

Yeah, that is on my list of stuff to do today. I thought it was Mothers Day. LOL:giggle: I am going to transition her bed before nap time. I already have the bed rail. SO, we are all set as long as she stays in there.

We transitioned Aedan to a toddler bed before he was 2 and it was a struggle for about a week. I also have a baby gate put up in his doorway so that he can't get up early and trash the house! Sounds cruel but it's really for his safety. I just don't think he would get out of bed and come get me. Anyway, we had to shut off all the lights and watch TV in our bedroom for awhile until he got used to sleeping in a bed. He would get out of bed and scream until someone came in. It was a looooong week. But now he will walk in there on his own and climb in bed at bedtime/naptime as long as I come in and cover him up and give hugs and kisses.

Don't worry it will get better! :hugs:
