I got my books and potty..
And we've gotten started!
I did a trial run at my inlaws on Sunday when we were over visiting, and one time only did I have a cue from my son. So I took him upstairs to their big potty and he went. I had ordered my books on Saturday. Monday they came and I read through one of them and am already done. I am reading Christine Gross-Loh's still, and we got us an extra potty since the one I ordered hasn't come, and we tried again.
No dice last night and I told him it was OK, let's get used to it being here and we can try again another time. :goodvibes:
We sat him on it in his clothes to get used to the feel last night and he sat there watching tv for 20 minutes and then wanted to crawl off.
This morning first thing when I got up, I took him in there with me and got his potty, sat it on my lap while I was busy (hey when you gotta...) and sat him on it so he could hang on. He fussed and cried and stood and sat, and I just encouraged him and made the noise and tickled above his bladder. I knew he had to go - and he went! :giggle: YAY!
I'm not stressing, but I think he was surprised at what happened, and rather pleased he wasn't wet. I told him he did good, look in the potty, and wiped him, got him a new dipe on and we went and washed our hands. (I started the washing hands routine after diapers last month)
So, if there were any tips you have for someone just starting out with a 7 month old - hey, I'm all for tips!
