Apples in tuna salad?
you'll have to forgive me, I'm a life-long veggie so having a hard time wrapping my brain around this...

DH works at a school district and in the course of his job was talking with the kitchen staff. He mentioned wondering why different meals are served at each school daily (just the 1 kitchen) and they said the different levels liked different things such as the high school kids liking apples in their tuna salad. Yes, IN it.

I've heard of pickles or onions in it but apples??? ewww!!

Is this a common addition?

I have tried them in chicken salad along with grapes and walnuts but I never thought to try them in tuna salad. Guess I have another to try.

Re: Apples in tuna salad?
We always put celery in tuna salad, and craisins in chicken salad. YUM! Apples would be good in both, though!

tuna, green apples and walnuts.

my quick go to tuna sandwich has onions or pickles or celery as the crunch
