Blessed Thistle and BF'ing

I got some blessed thistle to take to help boost lactation (along with fenugreek), but then I read the bottle and it says not to take blessed thistle while lactating. :headscratch: What gives?!??! :headscratch:

It's a CYA on the part of the manufacturer. That way if there is ever any reaction, they can say, "but we TOLD you not to take it when you're lactating". I've seen pre-natal supplements that say not to take them if you are pregnant or nursing. That really had me :headscratch:

Check out Kellymom.com She has a whole list of supplements and how safe they are to use during lactation.

I think it would be OK. There's another site link on that page about it.

I took it with fenugreek - we're all ok!

I take it everyday and have for a while now. It helps me more than fenugreek and I don't go around smelling like maple syrup. We're fine too!

I also took blessed thistle and fenugreek- they were both recommended by my herbalist when I was having supply issues. They helped.
