Question about Happy Heinys

I just bought one of the HH OS pocket diapers. How many times does it need to be washed for prepping? From their website, it looks like only once?! But, everything else I've bought says at least 2-3 times... Also, I read that the inner fleece lining is supposed to be 'rolled out'... what does this mean? Does that mean NOT to tuck it in the elastic part? Wouldn't that make it wick out the back? :headscratch: I'm a little confused, as you can probably tell!! TIA for any help/advice you can lend!

Re: Question about Happy Heinys

Cotton and other natural fibers get more absorbent with washing, while HH are polyester so they just need the one wash to be good to go.

As far as the rolling in or out of the fleece, I can't stand to leave the fleece out on the very back so I tuck it in. I just let the leg openings do what they will since they are designed to roll the right way (does that make sense???) . . . I haven't had any wicking/leaking issues and I use these with hemp inserts for night.

Re: Question about Happy Heinys

Great - thank you! I've been trying to figure out a night-time diaper for my heavy wetting 4 month old, and bought this pocket diaper to try... along with some FLIP's. Anyway, gonna try it with the HH inserts 1st (now that I know they're prepped enough!!) and then I also bought a Mightier Nighty. Thanks for the quick reply!

Re: Question about Happy Heinys

Roll out refers to the fleece top layer. Instead of the PUL or gussets again the baby's legs/thighs the fleece rolls out so it soft there.
