Teaching Signing

What do you signing mamas use when teaching your LOs? I worked with DD a lot more than I have with DS. I have a few different books and a little video. By the time DD was 9 months she could communicate her needs by signing. DS is 10 months now and knows 2 signs. I really want to work more with him on it. Thanks!

Re: Teaching Signing

I taught DD myself since I was taking ASL classes at the time. When she was a little older, she was totally into the Signing Time DVDs.

I'm starting now with DS (5 mos) just signing everyday stuff. When I go to get him out his crib I sign 'mama'. When he nurses, I sign 'milk.' I sign 'I love you' ILY-hand shape almost everyday and say it at the same time. I guess I just make it a part of our everyday routine.
