You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless you own the copyright or you have written consent from the owner of the copyrighted material. Spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are also forbidden on this forum. Advertisements posted in the approved forum are acceptable.

Note that it is impossible for the staff or the owners of this forum to confirm the validity of posts. Please remember that we do not actively monitor the posted messages, and as such, are not responsible for the content contained within. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information presented. The posted messages express the views of the author, and not necessarily the views of this forum, its staff, its subsidiaries, or this forum's owner. Anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to notify an administrator or moderator of this forum immediately. You have the ability, as you register, to choose your username. We advise that you keep the name appropriate. With this user account you are about to register, you agree to never give your password out to another person except an administrator, for your protection and for validity reasons. You also agree to NEVER use another person's account for any reason. We also HIGHLY recommend you use a complex and unique password for your account, to prevent account theft.

You also agree to maintain and use only one account (if you need to re-register for some reason, please contact a member of the Mod Team). If you are found to have more than one active user account, it will be evaluated by the Admins and will likely result in banning. As always, there are extreme exceptions that will be looked into at the Adminsí discretions.

After you register and login to this forum, you will be able to fill out a detailed profile. It is your responsibility to present clean and accurate information. Any information the forum owner or staff determines to be inaccurate or vulgar in nature will be removed, with or without prior notice. Appropriate sanctions may be applicable.

Please note that with each post, your IP address is recorded, in the event that you need to be banned from this forum or your ISP contacted. This will only happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement.

Also note that the software places a cookie, a text file containing bits of information (such as your username and password), in your browser's cache. This is ONLY used to keep you logged in/out. The software does not collect or send any other form of information to your computer.

Important Rules at a Glance

Diaper Swappers utilizes a "3 Strikes" policy to help maintain a clean and positive atmosphere.

Violations that count as a strike:
1. Any hateful, rude, racist, derogatory, foul language (spelled correctly or not, this is a family friendly community), insulting, or otherwise mean content (pictures, blinkies, avatars)
2. The use of your signature, posts, or avatar to promote competing boards (other mama-targeted forums). Additionally, links to sites containing non family friendly content are unacceptable. Should you have questions about whether something falls in our outside of this rule, PM Juan or Cricket for permission/clarification. Decisions are left to the sole discretion of the site owner and mods.
3. Using letters or symbols as a code not understood by the general public
4. Posting one-liners (abrasive sayings), pictures (picture of person with head up their rear end), or smilies (like banging head against the wall) in threads for the sole purpose of further fueling the fire in a hot topic
5. Posting a thread saying, "Hey, look at my siggy" in order to promote your store or product or service
6. Quoting and/or discussing content from Private Messages - especially pertaining to issues that have been brought to your attention by the Staff Team.( i.e. warnings or strikes)
7. Linking to a FSOT post regarding a negative/neutral feedback left for you
8. Using a slogan, sign, etc that indicates membership in an elitist clique or group: no cliques please
9. Unsolicited purchasing opportunities in thread responses. It is acceptable to link to your store or business in your sig. You just can't "promote" it outside of that.
10. Unsolicited personal message spam. Mass PMs to members is prohibited.
11. Bashing the site staff or DS as an entity (you can share you opinion in a respectful way, but typing "DS stinks," or using smiles and/or faces to show your discontent will NOT be acceptable). Concerns about the rules, or the manner in which the site is run should be addressed in "Ask The Pros" or in a PM to Juan M. or Cricket.

Penalties at a Glance
1. 3 signature violations and you permanently lose your signature space, or if deemed appropriate, a permanent ban
2. 3 avatar violations and you permanently lose your avatar space, or if deemed appropriate, a permanent ban
3. 3 violations mentioning competing boards and you permanently lose your PM ability, or if deemed appropriate, a permanent ban
4. 3 spam violations and you are temp banned for 1 month, or if deemed appropriate, a permanent ban

Strikes received will expire after one year from the date the strike was received.

Please note that mods and Admins have the right to use their discretion and will do what they feel is best for the community as a whole. Certain rule violations will require an instant permanent ban (like posting p*rn). If you have an issue with an action the site staff has taken, please contact one of the members on the admin team through PM.

Some simple reminders to get everyone started....

When replying to another members thread/post, please think about how you are addressing the original topic or if you are at all. Please consider why the original post was made (asking for support or affinity VS your opinion or thoughts on the matter, etc) - not all posts are open to debate.

Threads with only links to other threads clutter up the forums. People on dial-up have issues with it slowing their computers down, etc. If we come across links only they will be removed. It is realistically too much to PM each individual member now because we are moving a lot of posts each day.

When replying to a lively or controversial thread, take a minute to review your message prior to hitting "post"; consider ways it might be misinterpreted or hurt another's feelings. Stand back and try to read it from another person's perspective.

If a user complains about an avatar or siggy and it is sexual in nature (meaning sexual innuendos, sexual references, sexual terms, you get the point) then we will ask them to remove it. The same will apply to negatively charged racial avatars and siggys whose intent is to segregate or be mean.

We welcome avatars and signatures that are in support of your favorite political candidate or party, but if your signature/avatar is reported as offensive because it is bashing one of the candidates, we will ask you to remove it.

Anything else, we hold off on and ask them to send the complaint to either Juan or Cricket for review. I will ask the other admins about it in case of something that could go either way, but if it's blatant and unnecessary, then it goes.

Before posting, always ask yourself if this is something you would say in real life. Message boards are quite different from real life conversations, but the one way they will always be the same - these are the same people you might find at the grocery store, church, work, or where ever you happen to be. There are real people with real feelings behind every username.

We ask that you do not post any advertisements that profit you money on this board. (This includes RME and Moola invites.) The only place for these kinds of advertisements is your signature, anywhere other than your signature, it is SPAM.

Diaperswappers does not allow raffles and/or Lottos, if you have an item for sale, you must list an asking price. If you want bids/offers on your item, Ebay is the place to go. Certain Lotteries are allowed but they MUST follow these rules:

1) The price of the item must be set including shipping
2) There CAN NOT be any fee to enter the lottery
3) the winner of the lottery would be the person allowed to purchase the item

If it is proven that you are following a member around the board, harassing them in their posts, and just trying to make their time on DS miserable in general, this is taken very seriously and is a bannable offense.

Private Messages are PRIVATE please do not post them on the public forums without the sender's permission.

Administrators reserve the right to ban any member for reasons not in line with the Site Rules or guidelines. If they feel that a user is a problem that cannot be resolved, appropriate actions will be taken. All final decisions will be overseen by the site owner.

Bumping Etiquette

The For Sale or Trade section of the site is VERY active. We'd like everyone to have a chance to have their post on the first page at some point, so we ask that you practice good bumping etiquette and post just for the sake of bumping only twice every 24 hours. Any deviation from this may result in your thread being removed.

Please do not reply to your post with each item sold "xx is sold!"-marking the original post is enough for sold/reduced items. Remember, 2 replies to your thread every 24 hours is all that is allowed unless you are answering a question posted by another member.

Attempting To Sell Items Not In-Hand

Selling items before you have them in your possession is not allowed. This includes, but is not limited to, sought-after diaper lots, custom diaper slots, something you've bought in a co-op but changed your mind on before it's been shipped, etc. This rule applies whether money changes hands or not (if, for example, someone is buying a package of 15 diapers, and "reserves" some of them for other users on here, to be paid for when the diapers are in-hand). This is for the protection of the buyer and the seller.

Counterfeit Merchandise/Knock-Offs

Diaperswappers does not allow the sale of counterfeit goods. Counterfeit pertains to those items being passed off as a specific brand name when they are, in fact, not made by that company. Examples include fake purses (e.g.,Louis Vuitton, Kate Spade and Coach brands which are not authentic), designer jeans & other clothing (imitation Seven for all Mankind, Juicy Couture), watches, jewelry, etc.
The sale/re-sale of counterfeit goods is illegal & we do not support illegal activity. Please do not list imitation items on our board.

Rule Against Sale of Medications

We do not allow the sale of any medications on DS (prescription or Over the counter), because of many factors and dangers involved in the sale of meds. Also, The U. S. Food and Drug Administration has rules regarding the sale of over the counter medications, herbs and materia medica.

Cross-posting (aka How Many For-Sale Threads Can I Have At Once?)

There are multiple categories in the FSOT section. Your items for sale will likely fit best into one of those categories. If you feel the need to post in more than one category, you may, but each post needs to have all the necessary info for shoppers. Do not post just a link to your original post. Within each category, however, each user may have only one active post. If you're selling 3 pocket diapers, and found 3 more pocket dipes of a different brand that you also wanted to sell, go in and edit the title and content of your original post rather than making a new post. This helps keep the FSOT section clean for everyone.

Asking for Donations or FFS items

We have had problems in the past with people asking for FFS or donated items and not really being in need of them. We also have no way to tell if a charity is legitimate or not, therefore posts asking for FFS or donations are not allowed. (For charities only, however, you may post that info in your signature.)

WAHM and Business Bashing.

Bashing of WAHMs or businesses is not acceptable. There is NO way to review both sides of a story and criticisms in threads can permanently ruin a business - which is the way many members make a living. We have never allowed these types of threads on Diaper Swappers therefore we are now applying the rule to ANY business that is outed or called out. If you post the business name the thread will be deleted.

Diaper Swappers has a WAHM Feedback forum that everyone is welcome to use to report problems with any company. And a Report a B/S/T issue forum for transaction issues. If everyone would take advantage of these features we could make the world of diaper shopping even safer

When leaving feedback please relate your experiences: "I ordered on the 12th but it didn't arrive until the 29th" - is fine, but stating opinions on their poor customer service - "they treat their customers like crap" violates the rules.

Respect the DS Mod and Admin Team

Diaper Swappers is a free site owned by Escalate Media and ran by a group of volunteer moderators and administrators. We, the DS Mod Team, do not get paid to do our job here, and we volunteer what time we have to deal with the day-to-day organization and moderation of DS. To ensure the smooth running of DS, we enforce ALL the rules set forth by the Mod Team to the best of our judgment and interpretation.

Once the mods or admins close or delete a thread the subject is closed. Any re-opening the subject or publicly lashing out about a thread being locked or closed will result in strikes and/or banning.

Yes, we are humans too, and we do occasionally make mistakes. Positive criticisms in the form of Private Messages (PMs) are always welcome, and please do feel free to PM any of the moderators should you have any questions. With that being said, we kindly ask you to respect the Mod Team for the volunteer, unpaid work we perform on DS. We do not ask for anything in return, beside members enjoying themselves here and DS being fun and trouble-free. Should you choose to troll/flame/bash/harass us, call us names, or cuss us out instead of resolving issues civilly and privately, we will not hesitate to ban you without warning. Respect goes both ways, and none will be given to you if you canít show us any.
