You can put one tsp. of lemon juice or vinegar in a measuring cup and fill to 1 cup with milk. stir and let it sit a minute. It sours the milk and is a substitue for buttermilk.

Since the recipe only calls for 3/4 cup, I'm guessing that you could do 3/4 tsp. lemon juice and fill to 3/4 cup with milk.
