Nope, no gap . Sorry! Are you snappi'ing? I think personally that it just takes practice. Basically I just fold down a lot in back(3-4inches?) which makes me pull tight in the front to reach her belly button. Then I snappi one side and hold the snappi taut to make sure that it holds that "wing" in place while I snappi the other side and lastly snappi well the bottom to keep it from slipping and making that gap you talk about. Examples:
