I think it may have been the custard and cake combo that made it so unique (to me). Warm custard topping isn't something I see often. It was very moist, so I am wondering if it may have been the steamed pudding. It was different than the Christmas pudding they served though, which I also liked very much. But then it had kind of a syrup-y flavor to it, so maybe the upside down cake, but definitely not like our pineapple upside down cake that I make in my home. I am not sure what shape it was since it was served in pieces at my college. I was at the University of Cheltenham and Gloucester and living in Cheltenham.
