Re: too much water decreases milk?!
I usually drink 4 quarts of water when NOT pregnant or nursing, and now that I'm nursing I've been drinking 5-6 quarts of water a day. I'm not diabetic, just a big water drinker, always have been. Like others I get extremely thirsty while nursing and almost always sit down with a big glass of filtered fridge water to sip on while baby eats. I've also been drinking a 12oz Gatorade everyday as well, because I'd read that it helps boost the milk supply. I have found it to be very refreshing, and I don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but my supply has been better lately.
