The SnugRide 22 is a decent seat. Installs are generally easy and it is a pretty easy seat to use properly as long as you get the front adjust model. The handle can be up in the car. It does not fit littles well at all. The bottom slots are not low enough for a teeny tiny baby.

If you know that the Keyfit has been handled properly and that the straps have never been submerged or washed in the washing machine then I would try and borrow that seat. It fits smaller babies much better.

If you are open to skipping the infant seat altogether then you have even more options because there some great convertibles out there that fit newborns well.
