Re: Reestablishing a supply. Need advice!

Relactating takes a lot of time and dedication and it takes about a month to see any results at all. You would have to pump every time you feed the baby, plus attempting to latch the baby. I highly recommend power pumping. You would pump for five minutes, rest for one minute, pump five, rest one, pump five more. You can do this each time you pump. It adds 2 minutes extra to the pumping session but tells your body make more milk, make more milk, make more milk.

The client I have at work who is relactating was but on Reglin by her doctor. The doctor, while prescribing it told her it wouldn't work. sigh.

To work on the latch . . . lots of skin to skin contact. Like lie in bed with her all day if possible and cuddle and work on latch. Another idea is taking a warm bath together to recreate the birth situation.

I wish you all the luck in the world. It takes a lot of work and dedication. But it is possible.
