Milk or yogurt at bedtime kept me from waking up with heartburn. Sometimes even cheese. If you can't have dairy, I'd try rice milk or something like that.
With my first pregnancy, my daughter was riding really high. I went to a chiropractor who did the Webster technique, which allowed her to ride a little lower. That helped the heartburn, among other things.
