It may be, like I said I have no persional experience with it.You save more with tide though because you have to do less washes and use less of the detergent itself. You can always call tide and tell them you want to try it and they will be happy to send you coupons! They are great about coupons! You could start a thread asking how well it works. You may get some great responses. I believe in starting with what you normally use. I know MANY momas on here love their cheap sun detergent and as very happy with the results!
