glad that you got a 2nd opinion. I never heard of them saying there is infection when there are no other symptoms. If the root is broken or dying the tooth will turn gray is what i have been told. My nephew fell down the stairs of the porch when he was 1 year old. My sister took him to the dentist and they said his tooth would turn grey if the root were to die. So you will know in time. But my guess is, it will heal. His tooth healed just fine, even though it got shoved back up partially into his gum!
