My Lactation Consultant and her business partner recommend the Ameda Purely Yours. She said that it pumps just as well as the Medela, but while the Medela is an open pump system (meaning milk can get into the tubes and the motor) the Ameda is a closed system, the milk doesn't get in the tubes or the pump. In addition, it's about half the cost of the Medela... so a pump that's just as good at pumping, costs less, and has the closed system.

Also, for me personally, I had better results with the Ameda than with the Medela.

I used the Ameda with DS3. I was having supply issues and the Ameda worked beautifully for me.
