I don't know about medically, but I swelled so badly with my second set of twins that I was in major pain.

OP - With my second twin pregnancy, I didn't swell in the typical way. I had a TON of swelling in my lower belly. It caused my old stretch marks to swell up and look really funny. My 4 year old (at the time) told me they looked like worms. He was right. I was told it just depended on where the baby (ies) was and what they were blocking....sort of. Anyway, I swelled so much that I lost 50lbs in 10 days after I delivered. That was actually 5lbs more than I'd gained! It was really nuts the amount of swelling I had and it was very painful. Sorry you are having some strange swelling also.
Heather SAHM to 6 who are 7 and under, including 2 sets of twins and our last little miracle, a surviving identical twin, born Oct 2012!
