Pretty much a wooden board that made everything level, so the kids could play and not fall off the seat!

My dad took a piece of plywood and cut it out so that it fit over the footwells in the backseat of our Nova. My mom made cushions to go over the plywood and it turned the backseat basically into a big bed. My brother and I played and slept there on a cross country trip in about 1976. No one was in a seatbelt.
