in the past 8 months my kids were gifted a Leapster for my my now 4 yo, a DSi & a pandigital tablet for my 11 yo. They all prefer my Kindle Fire. Tons of apps, they can enjoy netflix, listen to music & get online. If I could go back I would just get them each a Kindle Fire.
