Re: Sourdough starter

It is just as easy to make your own as it is to order. I did order a starter because I was having trouble making my own. I think I bought it from ebay. By the time it came in I had figured out my troubles and had a good starter going. I had trouble at first because the starter got bigger and bigger then stopped growing. Although all my instructions said to feed once a day I found I needed to feed twice a day starting on day 3 or I would starve my pet yeasties. I also started pouring out about half the starter each day or I would have to increase the amount I fed my starters. I did let my starter die when working 2 jobs and pregnancy left me with no energy to even think about my starter. I have been lazy and haven't started it up again.
