I think it depends on what you're using the sheets for. If it is for something you pour in as a liquid it isn't going to work unless you are extra careful to make sure the liquid doesn't reach that 3" with no sheet. Something like fruit puree for fruit leather would be easier to control because it wouldn't spread as far.

Now I wonder if mine are BPA free
