It's always best to give a bottle you know will be finished. Breasted babies do very very well on 2 ounces, every two hours. So more bottle would help! But using one, is something some people do. You just risk bacteria growth (we have bacteria in our mouth. So once it contaminates the nipple it grows. One day? You'll be fine. You should need less than 6 ounces. 1 ounce per hour is a great rule of thumb to avoid over feeding
