Hi! The neck support isn't that firm but it isn't super floppy either. I used it at that age and just did a kangaroo leg carrier (I think that is what it is called when the legs are just folded in and under baby or up a bit in front of the baby). You can also add a rolled up towel under the baby to get the baby up higher too. No worries on the questions  Hope that helps! Thanks!
