Ditto! I've gotten emails like this before. Here are my red flags:
1. Its always a secretary or assistant who supposedly initiated the email.
2. They always use very unspecific language. They never say "your crib set" or actually refer to your item. I have never had someone legitimately email me and use that language. That tells me its a mass copy and paste kinda thing.
3. Offering to pay by check and offering to pay more than what you are asking. Really? Unless what you are offering is really valuable and really hard to find, why would someone offer to pay more?!
Good for you for being suspicious! Your instincts are right on and I would just delete the email. If you reply back they have access to your actual email address and can spam or try to hack.
