Just noticed you are in Canada too...our family Dr. didn't (couldn't?) order any testing, we were referred to an allergist. No life threatening allergies though, just major intolerances and he wanted to know if they would show up on testing, which they didn't.
Someone mentioned the point that past reactions do not predict future reactions, and that alone would have me forking out for an epi pen now. Our allergist won't test for any allergy that we have not seen a reaction too (to avoid the false positive thing I suppose) so my 4 year old has still never eaten any nuts. He recommended nut free until 3 due to family history, but I am too chicken to find out.
